This fabulous and authentic piece of embroidery was completed in April 1944 – two months before D-Day.
Wartime restrictions would have made fabric hard to come by so this is worked on a satin…remarkably, the satin is still strong and while some of the stitches have worn away, they leave the ghosts of where they once were – the embroidered panel is mounted on a piece of silk satin from the same era and it has been made into a cushion using a fine pink cotton chambray for the back and a fine glazed cotton in light green for the piping.
With added zipper for easy cleaning
Dry cleaning is advisable.
Filled with hollow fibre.
Shipping to UK addresses for a cushion is £8.00 flat rate.
